SALERNO MARITIME STATION

Elegant oyster-shaped maritime station, designed by the famous Zaha Hadid, overlooking the bay.

SALERNO CATHEDRAL

Most important monument in Salerno and contains the relics of the body of St. Matthew. Inside are the porticoed atrium and the 18th-century crypt.

CONVENT OF SAN NICOLA DELLA PALMA

Place surrounded by spring waters and lush gardens with multiple “histories”: of Salerno, the Cavense Congregation and the spread of the Observance.

GARDEN OF MINERVA

The Minerva Garden is in the heart of the city. Illustrates the treatment methods of the Medical School according to the principles of ancient and medieval medicine.

CERAMICS MUSEUM

A curious private museum showing a range of examples of Vietrese ceramics from the 16th century to the contemporary age.

PROVINCIAL PICTURE GALLERY

Paintings from the Renaissance to after World War II, with a focus on artists who worked in Salerno, from Andrea Sabatini to Solimena to the Posillipo School.

PROVINCIAL LIBRARY

The Salerno Provincial Library was founded in 1844, has a rich collection of old books and is equipped with about three hundred thousand volumes.

CREATIVE CITY MUSEUM

It was created to enhance ceramic art in all its forms and is an innovative and dynamic space in which exhibitions and creative workshops alternate.

ROBERTO PAPI MUSEUM

A museum dedicated to ancient medical artifacts dating from the 17th to 20th centuries. Fourteen rooms with reconstructions of medical cabinets and pharmaceutical offices.

ETRUSCAN-SANNITIC NECROPOLIS

Ancient evidence of the first city founded on the banks of the Irno River. Small temples, roads and tombs from the 6th to 3rd century BCE period.

PROVINCIAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

Located in the Monastery of St. Benedict, it has artifacts from the history of Salerno, from prehistoric to Roman times with the bronze head of Apollo.

DIOCESAN MUSEUM

The museum offers Salerno’s most important works: the medieval ivory cycle, with Old and New Testament, the Exultet, and the Pinacoteca

LANDING MUSEUM AND SALERNO CAPITAL

Museum dedicated to the Allied landing in Salerno on September 9, 1943. Among the artifacts is a train carriage for the deportation of Jews to Auschwitz.

VIRTUAL MUSEUM OF THE SALERNO MEDICAL SCHOOL

Museum located at the Church of St. Gregory. Inside are projected virtual and interactive reconstructions of the history of Europe’s oldest school.
